Moving your Mere Tradition subscription to Pelican+ [please watch & read!]

Easy steps for both monthly and annual subscribers

Thank you for being a faithful subscriber to Mere Tradition. As you probably know by now, we’re moving to Pelican+, and the team there has been working diligently to ensure you have a smooth transition.

Below you’ll find instructions based on whether you’re a monthly or annual subscriber.

FOR MONTHLY SUBSCRIBERS:

All you need to do is click this link:

When you arrive at the checkout page, you’ll have the option to subscribe as a monthly Basic subscriber at $7.99/month. The beauty of this is that you’ll not only gain access to my content, but also to all of the other founding collaborators on Pelican+.

I’d also encourage you to consider our Premium subscription at $15.99/month, which includes access to our entire traditional prayer app, e-books, audiobooks, and much more. There’s also a Family Premium option if you’d like to share access with your household.

Nota bene: Simply by using the above link, the Pelican+ team will be informed that you have come from my Substack, and we will unsubscribe you here, so that there is a seamless transition and you don’t have to worry about a thing.

FOR ANNUAL SUBSCRIBERS:

We’ve calculated the remaining months of credit you have with us, and you’ll be receiving a separate email with a gift card (coupon code) to use toward your Pelican+ subscription.

When you receive that email, click this link: https://app.pelicanplus.com/menu/checkout

You’ll be prompted to enter the coupon code from your gift card email. You can then select from any of the subscription options—whether you choose to switch to monthly or continue with an annual plan. Your credit will be applied first before any new charges.

Important note about subscribing:

Pelican+ is committed, as a Catholic entity, to stand against big tech tyranny and their extractive fees. Apple and Google demand 30% of all subscription revenue processed through their app stores. We refuse to fund platforms that oppose our values.

Because of this principled stance, you cannot subscribe through the native mobile apps. Instead, you must complete your subscription signup through the web version (the links above). Once you’ve subscribed via the website, you can then download and use the mobile apps freely to access all content.

If you download the app before subscribing and try to access premium content, you’ll see an “unavailable” button rather than a “Subscribe” prompt. This is intentional. Simply go to the website link above to complete your subscription first.

Yes, it’s an inconvenience, but it’s the result of refusing to compromise our principles.
