I’ve recovered from not hearing you address the added liturgical dance and Baptism by the Holy Spirit—took awhile 😉

Truthfully, great episode. Could I suggest an assiduous fast for 40 days to start the reform under Pius XIII? It would have the effect of steeling the remnant Church against what would surely be an intense temptation to revert/concede.

I like your ideas. I’d add throwing out The Liturgy of the Hours and restoring the Divine Office within 3 months. I’d borrow from Father James Mawdsley’s, “Divine Depths” and require pastors to offer Sunday Vespers as an option to their parishioners.

Also forbid communion in the hand immediately, along with altar girls, lay Eucharistic ministers, dancing at the altar, secular music. And no more Saturday mass to fulfil Sunday obligation. At some point reinstate the Oath Against Modernism. Take the hardline against abuse: those accused are tried in a court of civil law, no exceptions, if found guilty, thrown out of the priesthood forever (in addition to jail time). Any superior, no matter the rank, found to be guilty of covering things up, they face the same charges, jail time, thrown out of the priesthood forever.

Sounds like a good plan if you were ultimately restoring Vatican 1?

I’m a convert to the Catholic Church, and I still have a lot to learn. I was brought up in mixed protestant churches and I my grandparents and other relatives didn’t practise any religion that I know of.

I go to an independent Latin Mass at St Benedict’s Chapel in Brisbane Australia with Bishop Steven Hartley. We use the St Andrews Missal from 1948.

I have learnt that if we don’t agree with

Vatican II we should only use a Missal pre 1962? Because changes were made to the words of the consecration after this. What do you think about this?

Biblical Exegesis would return to everything BEFORE Historical Criticism... The root of the crisis is this.

You said you’d insist that the Catholic schools require teachers to take an oath of loyalty to the Magisterium - I’m happy to say that the Kolbe Academy homeschool program does require that of its teachers: https://kolbe-files.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/public/docs/STATEMENT+OF+CATHOLIC+MORALITY.pdf

If there is a great Warning, Chastisement, Illumination of Conscience or a second Pentecost, that may be the only way to turn the ship around. The cry room in our chapel is so full that people spill over into the hallway, and we have lots of babies, toddlers inside the main chapel. It gets noisy sometimes.
