Sounds like the original Charismatics, like many of their time, wanted to be like the Protestants. Looks like Charismatic Renewal and modernism are just liberal Protestantized Catholics.

They were both Apostles and Bishops. Charismatics teach that ordinary lay people can do the things Apostles and Bishops do. Charismatics are wrong.

What is also cringey is when they raise their hands (laying of hands) when the priest is blessing the congregation or someone or some other people in front of the altar, and the orans during the Our Father.

Did the book explain how the first modern mass occurrence of tongues began directly after Pope Leo XIII's prayer to the Holy Spirit (girded by St. Elena Guerra) on Jan 1 1901? Because linkings to Montanism is not very persuasive.
