Nothing confusing about it. Everyone in Catholic media, and I do mean EVERYONE (eh hem), has taken a tune of Leo being a great hope an cause for optimism...in spite of all the evidence pointing to that being certifiably insane.
JHW's first message after the election revealed that he was skeptical and not optimistic. And then he was told to shut up and be positive. He fell in line, but it wasn't enough. LSN is shifting gears, going mainstream and probably will be looking to bring on the Fradds and Fr. Mikes of the world to compete with EWTN for the almighty mammon.
The next shift in the Overton Window is happening, all part of the Helegian Dialectic.
And many are shifting their positions, perhaps without even realizing it.
There is no surer beacon of truth and guidance in this time than Abp Lefebvre, at the end of his life. The Abp Lefebvre who realized Rome was in apostasy and run by modernists "qui ont quitté l'église."
No compromise. No deals. No undue optimism. Hold the line, fight for Truth, insist on orthodoxy and a return to Tradition.
My husband works remote. Recently, he had to show up at corporate office for some leadership meetings…one of the topics was “psycholigical safety”…this is where we are Kennedy. EVERY business with board members has adopted some type of woke agenda. I sure hope my husband doesn’t get fired- he is what’s formerly known as, blunt. Nowadays, my husband is considered, aggressive or inconsiderate of feelings…this is a CONSTRUCTION COMPANY no less!!!
Years ago, I often found myself in similar circumstances quite often at progress meetings with contractors and subs, and have always been considered to express my concerns and convictions with contemporaries quite bluntly. Instead of merely praying in those days, I was led to adopt an incessantly prayerful disposition attendant only to God, no matter how I might be otherwise engaged. I came to regard adoption of this disposition as a surrender to participation in my destiny of Sainthood, as I still do today. I was always amazed by the amicable manner in which these meetings, and work afterward proceeded when I would conducted my work with no other agenda than to proceed only while in attendance to the Person, the needs, and the desires of God alone, for His sake alone, even though I often had to dish out some very hard reality at our meetings to supers and their foremen. I would conclude that when we allow creation of a sanctuary within us God rushes to inhabit the Tabernacle and wittingly or not, the event cannot remain unobserved or misunderstood by others proximate.
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I find Pope Leo frustratingly disengaged at a time when the barque of Peter needs a firm hand at the tiller, now more than ever. Of course, what could I hope for from the current college of cardinals? A miracle, I guess. But is it really expecting too much that Leo would quietly shelve Traditiones Custodes and revive Summorum Pontificum (as someone else has suggested)? Isn't it obvious to everyone that Pope Francis's was an utterly disastrous pontificate and needs a strong corrective? It seems to me the real hunger in the Church today is for (more) Tradition, the whole and nothing but.
Ya know, what really stands out about you Kennedy is not just that you are the most thoughtful and informed in your field I have encountered with your writing and presentations, but that you so faithfully and eminently embody Christ's charity. These put you on the top of the heap in my book, and would keep me, an admittedly 90% former "Charismatic", coming back. Keep on keepin' on.
I can't for the life of me figure out why LifeSite decided to make a 2nd statement which was much worse than the first. The 2nd statement about safety sounds ridiculous. Such poor judgement is to their detriment and I will pull my support.
JH was LifeSite. Since he is gone, so is LifeSite. Can't support something when it gone. So sad it is over.
It is all very strange

Oh wow

Well, thank you, that is very kind
