Thank you for a much-needed analysis of the situation which makes clear the irrationality of the modernist position.

"Modernism is where reason goes to die" sure enough! Impossible to reason with people who operate entirely on an emotional attachment level going on their "gut instinct s". Agree with comment below that the bishops loved Summorum because it caused less ruckus in their dioceses. Less controversy=less annoyance and pain of any kind must be avoided in modern times.

"Full communion" of Trads is about as intellectually rigorous as thinking the conversion of Russia entails Vladimir Putin attending a LifeTeen Mass.

I was making an analogy in irrationity which may have been a bit too abstract. Those who use the absurd phrase "full communion" do not understand that one is either in communion or not as Kennedy states. It's like being partially pregnant. My point is that such thinking is as absurd as suggesting the Orthodox would ever unify with the Vatican 2 Church or submit to the Roman pontiff so long as they disdain or persecute their own tradition.

WM Review published in interesting piece pointing out an ignored revelation in Montaga’s release; the bishops like Summorum because it pacified traditional minded Catholics
