Powerful article. I hope you will follow up with knowledge you may receive from your FSSP priest acquaintances on whether or not their local bishop(s) enforce this. We need to pray for those good bishops who resist. Meanwhile, not matter what is to come, we must all be at peace in the knowledge that all that God permits, good and bad, is within His Perfect Will. We who love God, also trust Him without reserve.
Well written, well analyzed. Hard, hard truths, but Truth was not a pansy but a Warrior. We must be warriors, too. If we take up our cross and follow Him, we must be willing to fight for Him, too. We must not compromise with the devil or with modernism. With the grace of God and our Holy Faith, may we be victorious until the end, when Our Lord says, "Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." Matthew 25:23.
Interesting article…many good points. I am incredibly skeptical, however, about some things said in the Fr. Scott article. He closes by essentially implying that attending an FSSP Mass is a mortal sin, and one ought to never attend even to fulfill the Sunday obligation. Do you agree?
Well written and well analyzed. The quote from Paul VI is eye opening. Please put more quotes if you have them.
Some people like to blame the Society for not reaching an agreement with Rome, they even falsely accuse the Holy archbishop of just consecration bishops when Rome offered to bring the Society in full communion. This is false and needs to be repeatedly exposed as false.
Those of us who have to leave everything and move close to an SSPX chapel know what has been robbed from regular Catholics by the new mass. It in no way helped our Faith, in fact it caused a loss of Faith. On the one hand they tell us the priest is alter Christus when offering Holy Mass and then they cancel 3 Masses and have five priests offer one Mass, which priest is Christ? Then in the same Mass, Susan and Karen will distribute Holy Communion while 4 priests sit and watch as twenty people are given Holy communion by the 5 Susans because that's how we treat the source and summit of our Faith, we are to treat it like a cookie. The no Mass, is no Mass at all, it is a Trojan horse meant to destroy the Faith, we need to expose it for what it is and not settle for the validity argument.
Lewis seems to speak much like those masons trying to hold St. Bernadette for being crazy. The naturalist prison by modern pyschology seems more and more like a tool for the devils.
The breakdown was well done and the reality that should be ironic is this thought of communion. For if the fssp is still needing more communion then it sadly isnt in full communion as they would say either. As we know the ambiguity of these terms are masonic so much that this is the Spirit we are battling. This revolutionary spirit.
It is my hope that the fssp would be thus like St. Peter in their repentance in denial of the Catholic Truth and thus run back with St. John to the Tomb once again together. Fighting together once again with the SSPX for the Catholic faith in its doctrine without compromise and believing in the resurrection and no longer fearful of the jews and those that persecute the church. That they be able to sit with our Lord and tell Him that they love Him and His response be Feed My Sheep. May our Lord appear to them as He appeared to St. Peter. That they be reminded of his profession that He is the Son of God, not just what others say he is.
Thank you for your wisdom concerning the SSPX and for your book, The Defense of the SSPX. It has been my experience that the FSSP may be “trained” to view the SSPX as schismatics as homilies by FSSP priests (and an article in the Momento) suggest to support this view. I pray that we all may find more charity (as you tend to have) than criticism in our assessment of the Traditional worship. I do believe one day, Archbishop Lefebvre will be named a great doctor of the Church.
I enjoyed your article, just recently started reading more about the SSPX. Your article has provided me with a great insight to the FSSP and a little more about the SSPX.
When I write the word "satan" I never use an upper-case "s", I don't want to give that demon any type of recognition.
Thank you Mr. Hall, for this excellent analysis. I agree with you and the good Archbishop. It's a matter of principle, and unfortunately the FSSP was founded upon compromise. We certainly cannot judge them, for there is no doubt that they are sincere in their love for Tradition and the Faith, but it is the reality of the situation. I asked a FSSP priest about this recent story, and he said it wasn't a serious problem, that they have the right to refuse concelebration, and if they receive Communion from their bishop, they would do so kneeling and on the tongue. He also said that this meeting with the Pope was requested by the French FSSP priests because of their situation in France, and Rome asked the Superior to join in. To me, this just sounds like it was taken as an opportunity by Rome to offer their "gentle" threat across the board, and not just specifically for those priests in France.
That's great. But if all that is true about how we can't accept the New Mass because it is designed to destroy the Old Faith then why did your supposed 'prophet' accept wholeheartedly the destruction of the Divine Office in 1911 which was the pathfinder that paved the way for the destruction of the old religion and made everything that happened at Vatican II possible? And he even named his society after the idiot pope who did it?????!!!!

Did you just call Pope Pius X an idiot? You are completely out of line and a maniac
When you destroy for no good reason a liturgical practice that has been in continuous daily use in the Church since antiquity you deserve no praise.
At least Paul VI had an ecumenical council to blame. Pius X just up and did it on his own one day
Well described. I appreciate this analysis.
thank you!
