What is truly frightening was the accuracy of Tongues and interpretation. Though this was rare, it deceived me into giving my power over to this evil movement. The majority of the of time it was for selfish gain. For example, Father Ed and other leaders would prophecy that a young person was to become a religious. These same people would then brag that they had the most religious vocations in the United States.
There was such a case with Saint Padre Pio in 1945, American soldiers visited the church. One of them, a black man from the Bronx, exchanged some slang. He hesitated when approaching the confessional where Padre Pio was. Then Padre Pio leaned out and, in beautiful Bronx slang, invited him to confession. The soldier confessed and received absolution - all in American slang from the Bronx….
PAPAYA…😂🤦🏽♀️ I can’t even logic out in my brain how people can hear that nonsense and believe it’s a path to holiness. Unfortunately, I’ve witnessed the diabolically, bizarro ranting before. I had a Pentecostal aunt who was married to a preacher. We got tricked into going to church with them once… I Stress Once…Oh yeah- thanks a lot Kennedy, every time my husband hears the word papaya, he starts laughing uncontrollably 🤪
My parents joined the charismatic tenes back in the mid 80s and I joined them when I was 15. Now that I'm 50 I can see all the problems with it. I had a conversation with my dad months ago, and then you started talking about it. It was a blessing because I didn't have the research you have. How do you explain N.O. Catholics that the charismatic renewal is wrong (with good arguments) but they come back with "but the Church approved it?"
Are you planning on translating your book? I'd like to translate it into Spanish. The Charismatic renewal is huge in Spanish America. I don't call it Latin America for a good reason.
